Mrs Justice Lambert DBE

Mrs Justice Lambert DBE was instructed in clinical negligence and injury cases of the greatest complexity and value in her time at the Bar. She took Silk in 2009.

She acted as Lead Counsel when Dame Janet Smith undertook a review of the relationship between the BBC and Jimmy Savile.

In 2014 she was lead counsel in the Hillsborough Inquest where “During my questioning of the match commander, David Duckenfield, he admitted that he lied about fans forcing the exit gate to gain entry to the stadium: the court — packed with the relatives of those who died — fell completely silent.”

In 2018 she was appointed to the High Court bench where she has tried a number of notorious murder cases as well as civil injury and abuse actions. She sits in the Court of Appeal (Criminal Division) from time to time.
